2025 is the 60th Anniversary of the groundbreaking Ford Transit’s introduction. Classic & Vintage Commercials will of course be running a series of special features to mark this. We have also just heard from our friend Tom Caren, shows manager at the British Motor Museum Gaydon, who tells us that the museum will be hosting a special 60th anniversary event on June 1. He writes as follows:
“We are holding a Ford Transit 60th Anniversary Celebration in conjunction with the Transit Van Club on Sunday 1st June. We do not have the room to celebrate the 60th anniversary at the Classic and Vintage Commercial Show 2 weeks later so we have moved Transit day to the 1st June. It will be run alongside the Metro and Mini Show and is now listed on our webpages. It will cost £12 to enter your Transit but that gets the Transit,1 driver and 1 passenger into the show and the museum is included too. Camping is available for the Saturday night and that is at a separate cost. The Transit Van Club will be setting up their club gazebo on the Saturday prior to the show too.
“CVCS will be held on the 14/15 of June and as mentioned we will not be holding a Ford Transit Anniversary event on that date as I don’t have the room and if too many Transits turned up on the day I would have to run them away unfortunately hence us moving to Sunday 1st June.
“We also have Wythall Busfest at Gaydon taking place on the 5th July and Wythall Transport Museum have asked if anyone with a bus related vehicle such as a breakdown or service vehicle could come along then they would be most welcome. Entry of the appropriate vehicle would be free for the driver and passenger of the bus related vehicle. We normally have over 80 buses along so it is a great day out and there are bus services running so that you can enjoy trips out on old buses or the latest electric bus, whatever your choice is and all included in the entry.
