Former CVC Editor (and current Editor of our sister publication ‘Old Glory’) Peter Love has asked us to publicise that for various reasons his annual ‘Bodle Street Green Drive It Day Charity Gathering & Road Run’ will, for 2025 only, not be taking place at the end of April. Rather, it will be happening on Sunday April 6. He is very keen to get the word around, because a number of other sources are, apparently, listing a date of April 27. This is NOT correct.
Everything else stays the same. The venue is the centre of Bodle Green village; postcode is BN27 4UB. A good selection of vehicles is expected including commercials is expected. Last year there were 345 vehicles in total, and particupants will get free tea and cakesin the village hall. All you need to do is arrive on site, where marshals will place you in position and just sign in.
Last year the event raised £2000 for Prostate Cancer UK and the Village Hall fund. Since starting these events have raised just over £30,000. A key feature is the raffle for which many generoud prizes have been donated. Present CVC Editor Peter Simpson is also hoping to be there, driving the 1949 Riley RMB that was formerly owned by the late Nick Baldwin.
